Avoid these 10 items to ensure a comfortable flight during lengthy flights:

Long-haul flights can cause mental stress, and the altitude can make many things that appear normal on the ground uncomfortable while in flight. In order to have a comfortable flight and avoid any pain, this article lists 10 things you should never do while flying.

First, refrain from using contact lenses. They can dry out your eyes, and the dry air inside the airplane might make them much more uncomfortable.

As a result, if you're taking a lengthy space trip, you should avoid using contact lenses and utilize an eye wash. If you decide that wearing lenses is important, choose daily disposable lenses, and be sure to always have eye drops on hand.

Number 2: Avoiding Ear Blockage:

Air pressure variations during takeoff and landing might result in ear blockage. The pressure fluctuations during takeoff and landing can occasionally be excruciatingly painful if your ears are dry and have built-up wax. You can avoid this discomfort by taking some safety precautions. Clean your ears thoroughly before a long trip, and then put some lukewarm eucalyptus or mustard oil into them. Give tiny children a water bottle to sip from in case they get an ear blockage during the journey, and chew on some sweets or gum.

You can open and close your jaw quickly to assist open blocked ears. Try to push air through the Eustachian tubes in your ears by opening and closing your lips, pinching your nostrils, and forcing air out through your nose. This may relieve the discomfort and air escape from the congested ears.

Number 3: If You Have a Blocked Nose or Sinus Issues:
Long flights may be especially difficult for you if you have sinus issues or a blocked nose because the dry air inside the airplane will aggravate your condition. Apply some moisturizer, such as Vaseline or olive oil, by inserting your finger into your nostrils before the flight to prevent this, and carry a nasal spray that is frequently found at pharmacies.

Number 4: Don't Stay Seated:

As your blood circulation slows down during the journey, staying seated can start to feel unpleasant. Your limbs may begin to feel tingly and numb. As a result, when the signal to unbuckle your seatbelt is given after takeoff, move around a little. If you can, take a short stroll, or if you can't, exercise your legs to encourage healthy blood circulation.

Number 5: Avoid drinking soda:

Air pressure changes during flights can cause gas to build up in the stomach, and fizzy beverages can make the situation worse. Avoid consuming such beverages and meals during the flight, especially beans, apples, and fizzy bread.

Number 6: Motion Sickness:

Some people have motion sickness, which makes traveling—especially in a car—extremely difficult. When the car turns, this might cause nausea and vomiting. This can be avoided by choosing seats up front instead of toward the back of the plane for those who are prone to motion sickness. Eat a light lunch before the flight and stay away from fried, greasy, and stomach-stressing items.

Number 7: Avoid touching surfaces inside the aircraft:
Aircraft cabins can harbor germs, so avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily. Sanitize your hands, and remember that the rapid spread of COVID-19 worldwide has been linked to air travel.

Number 8: Don't Use Phones:

Keep your mobile devices turned off or in airplane mode during takeoff and landing. These devices can interfere with the signals received by the control tower, potentially causing accidents. Listen to the instructions given by the flight crew seriously and turn off all such devices.

Number 9: Headphones:

Although airlines provide headphones that are sanitized and sealed, it's better to carry your own headphones if you plan to use them during the flight to avoid any concerns about the cleanliness of the provided headphones.

Number 10: Walking Barefoot:

On long flights, you might feel tempted to remove your shoes for comfort, but walking barefoot can soil your feet and expose them to germs. Therefore, wear socks or slippers and refrain from walking barefoot.

Note: Nowadays, airline rules have become quite strict for travelers. During the journey, avoid getting into disputes with the crew. If you have any complaints, communicate them patiently and courteously. If your concerns are not understood, file a complaint with the airline's management after the flight in a proper manner. Avoid using harsh words and display patience and resilience; otherwise, you might create unnecessary trouble for yourself.
